Deciding What You Should Do With Your Life..
Hiya,
how are you all today? Where I am its sunny, warm and pretty outside
which is definitely a ‘good start’ to the day if I may say so! ^_^
Decisions… Decisions…Decisions .
For some that word might bring up excitement, opportunity and adventure.
For others, dread, anxiety and fear of the unknown.
I would have to say that I fall under the latter.
Now when it comes to making decisions, some are easier than others. The ones that have major impacts on your life and can turn it either upside down or right side up, are surely the scariest ones to make. For me that is. Though I’d be lying if I said that they aren't of the most intriguing ones to make.
After all how many times in a life time do we get the opportunity to do something that completely changes everything in our lives?
Have you ever had periods of time in your life where you felt compelled to do something whether you wanted to do it or not?
And despite the many different things you could have done differently, you eventually gave in and did what was expected of you?
I’m sure many of us have been there. And done that.
What if I told you that you didn't, don’t nor ever have to do that?
Why?
Because it’s your choice to make.
I went through my life always comparing myself to others. Wondering how they could do that so much better than me?
What was wrong with me? How could they achieve what I strove so hard to reach yet could never come close to achieving no matter how hard I tried?
Am I stupid?
Am I dumb?
Is it that I just don’t have the ability to go far in life?
Why is it that I’m not fitting into this mold that everyone seems to fold so easily into?
It took me a few years to come to the answer.
There is no mold! Its fiction. Invisible. Nonexistent.
I mean think about it for a minute…how could billions of people who are completely different to one another fit into a box. A mold. An expectation.
It’s simply unattainable. In other words, it can’t be done.
Why?
I'll get to that in a minute.
Everything a person believes in, does ect.. is based on who we grew up around and what we see around us and understand from it.
So I didn’t get that A+ in my exam, which makes me dumb.
I didn’t understand what my teacher was explaining, so i must be stupid.
I didn’t get the promotion I so clearly deserved, I must be lacking in some area of expertise.
He gets to go out with a lot more girls then I do, it must be his status so I gotta work towards that so I can be like him; handsome, attractive, successful and ‘wanted’ like he is.
She gets all the attention from all the guys because she has a flat stomach and long shiny hairy so I just have to lose these 10 pounds to fit into these jeans or I’ll never forgive myself!
It’s all nonsense. Bullsh*bleep*.
It isn't truth.
Would you like to know why? Because everyone is different and unique! One of a kind. And that's why no two people can be put into 'one category' at any given moment in time.
Everyone has separate strengths and weaknesses and they’re what make us wonderful people.
If you’re extraordinary with your mind and not so good with your hands that doesn't make you any better or worst than someone who’s awesome with their hands, more than their mind.
I have always beaten myself up about the way that I am and how I should be better, smarter and skinnier then I am.
Until you get to open your eyes and start seeing things for what they are. Not what they seem to be or should be.
And who’s to say that the way things are, aren't what they should be?
Every human being is born gifted in some way or another. Sometimes it may take time to find out what your strong points are. Yet when you do, you become unstoppable. Invincible. Indestructible.
Sometimes we may wish to be shown what road to take in life. What, where, when, how and why should we do something? Look deep inside yourself and you’d find that the answer always resided within you. It’s there. Give it time and space to form. And take shape.
If you deny your true self by doing something that you don’t truly want to do and don’t feel comfortable, happy and passionate doing, then you are denying and repressing yourself. And you haven’t given yourself the space and time to figure out what it is that you actually enjoy doing.
Take a look at people who inspire you. Whoever that person may be to you, whoever they are, I would bet anything that they enjoy and feel passionate about what they’re doing. They feel so good about it that they can’t help but project those positive vibes onto you and they make you feel so good that it’s as though they draw you into whatever it is they’re doing.
What if I told you that you have that same passion?
And light?
And ability to completely captivate people with your essence?
It’s all within you. Right now. It’s always been there.
All you have to do is let it shine. Let it soar. Don’t deny yourself any longer. Stop being and doing anything that you don’t enjoy doing. If you don’t have the immediate means to completely stop now then give yourself a deadline and work towards it knowing that by that point, you will no longer be miserable. You will be doing what you were born to do and feel happy and delighted about doing it.
So take a minute and ask yourself whether or not you are, where you want to be in your life right now?
I will share where I am right now in my life, with you:
I’m at a crossroads. Trying to decide which direction to take. I do believe that either road will be right, why? Because nothing happens in our lives that wasn't meant to happen. If i hadn't been through everything I've experienced in my life, i wouldn't be here right now writing to you. So yes. i count myself lucky and blessed and wouldn't have it any other way.
It’s choosing which road to take that I’m working on right now and I’m both terrified and ecstatic at the prospects! So I’ll keep you posted!
Anyways thank you so much for reading my post I hope you liked it. And if not still feel free to let me know in the comments section below. Your welcome to share and like the page if you think it could benefit others.

Now at the end of my articles I’m going to share something with you that I've learned, that helps me as a human being, in the hopes that it may help you too. It’ll probably be typed in another colour, then you'll know you've reached my ‘tidbit of the day’ part. I hope they help you as they've helped me. ^_^
Jays’ tidbit: I try to cancel the word ‘but’ out of my vocabulary nowadays. Why? Well simply because ‘but’ actually negates the phrase that came before it. For example; I enjoyed lunch but it was a little spicy. Which kinda means that you didn't really enjoy it all that much, did you? :)
